Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa for Bhutan?
Yes, all international visitors except Indian nationals require a visa for Bhutan. We process your visa as part of the package. You'll need to send us a clear passport copy and passport photo at least 15 days before travel. The visa is stamped in your passport upon arrival at Paro Airport.
How difficult is the Tiger's Nest hike?
The hike to Taktsang Monastery is moderate and takes 5-6 hours round trip. The trail is well-maintained but has many stone steps and significant uphill sections. The first 45 minutes are steep, then you descend to a cafeteria viewpoint before the final climb. Most people with reasonable fitness can complete it.
What is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)?
The SDF is a $100 per night fee that all international visitors pay to visit Bhutan. It funds free education, healthcare, and infrastructure development while preserving Bhutan's culture and environment. This fee is included in our package price - you don't need to pay separately.
What is the accommodation like?
We use comfortable 3-star hotels in both Thimphu and Paro. Rooms have attached bathrooms with hot water, comfortable beds, and heating. Hotels offer restaurant service and are centrally located for exploring the towns. Upgrades to 4 or 5-star hotels are available on request.
Can I extend this tour?
Absolutely! This 3-night package can be extended to include Punakha (with its famous dzong and fertility temple), Gangtey Valley (crane sanctuary), or longer treks. Contact us with your available days and interests for a customized itinerary.
